Head Chef - Fantastic Golf & Country Club in Bedfordshire.
We currently have a fantastic Golf & Country Club looking for a Head Chef to join their team.
Salary - £25K £30K per annum based on experience
Responsible for a team of approx. 5 Chefs
Previous experience as a Head Chef required within a similar operation, golf club, hotel etc.
Casual restaurant, golf food, weddings, banqueting, parties and events
Responsible for the food production and providing the highest food quality
Margin understanding for good GPs
Stock and provisions knowledge
Great at people leadership
To upskill the team
Manages all activities in the kitchen, including production and management of food production staff
Maximises guest satisfaction by providing the highest food quality consistent with cost control and profitability margins of the Club kitchen
Assures adherence to the Club standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation
Work closely with the nominated suppliers and ensure strong competitive pricing agreements are achieved without compromising quality
Assures proper staffing and adequate supplies for all stations
Ensures weekly stock check and monthly stocktakes are carried out to company standard
Ensure all invoices are tracked and monitored on a weekly basis and in line with the purchase order procedure
Oversees all food production related areas
Develops guest/market oriented menus, and changes menus regularly to reflect local, seasonal and national trends
Attends restaurant and/or catering fairs and conferences regularly to develop food knowledge
Monitors industry trends and recommends appropriate action to maintain the competitive status and profitability
Monitors competitors pricing and menus
Co-ordinates activities, times and communicates priorities to ensure correct preparation, and delivery time to provide food for functions, lounge menu & societies
Maintains product consistency by conducting inspections of seasonings, portions, and food appearance, and follows-up appropriately
Oversees inventory disbursement of all food supplies
Controls and orders all fresh products and dry storage items required by kitchen and related departments to ensure correct quality and par stock
Monitors and facilitates communication between kitchen production and service staff
Assures proper safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices are followed
Co-ordinates operation of kitchen with Bar, Restaurant & Function Rooms
Ensures readiness and compliance in case of last minute changes to bookings
Ensures that prices and portions are offered in accordance with food and beverage profit objectives
You will be required to work 40 hours per week on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
Must have transport and experience in return we offer a competitive salary and 28 days holiday (including bank holidays).
